Why Luxury Vinyl Flooring Could Be For You
Luxury Vinyl Flooring (LVF) offers the most value for your decorating dollar, and that is why it's now considered a trend. More and more people are tackling those home improvement projects that they've been putting off, which translates into more shopping with even greater searches for value. Please continue reading to see why this product may be for you.
Affordable Style
Inspired by nature, this vinyl offers true-to-life images of wood, stone, and tile. Taken with high-definition photography, they are bright and accurate with knots, swirls, grains, veining variations, and exciting colors and patterns. Because of micro beveling and embossing, these floors have depth, dimension, and textured looks, such as wire-brushed, hand scraped, weathered, and distressed.
As an added design option, the floors can be cut into planks or squares. The vinyl is sheared into strips and mounted on boards to mimic hardwood or stone slabs, called vinyl plank flooring. It can also be cut into groutable squares called LVT flooring; many feel the extra seams add realism.
Waterproof durability
This vinyl is waterproof flooring and can be submerged (as in an appliance floor) or spilled on with no damage. Multi-layered, it's five times thicker than original sheet vinyl with a top, transparent melamine wear layer that protects the floor from scratches, scuffs, and spills. LVF should measure at least 8-mm in thickness, with wear layers weighed separately at 20-mils.
In addition, it is low maintenance, only requiring a regular (daily, if possible) sweeping and a periodic mopping with a manufacturer-approved cleaner. Avoid wax, shine-promoting cleaners as they can dull the floor. Installation is also uncomplicated, especially when it's a floating floor which is click, mat, and hover.
